New Jobs at Empress Casino Joliet to be featured at Joliet Junior College Job Fairs
Joliet , Illinois, Sept. 3, 2010 -- Empress Casino Joliet, to be re-branded Hollywood Casino Joliet in late December, will be a featured participant in the Joliet Junior College 9th Annual Part-Time and Seasonal Job Fair for Students on September 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at C-Concourse (main campus). In addition, the casino will host its own job fair at the college on September 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Smith Business & Technology Center Conference Rooms, T-1000/1001.
Representatives from Empress will attend the job fairs to discuss full and part-time positions based in the casino’s new pavilion (grand opening late December) as well as positions on the casino floor.
Available positions at the casino include: utility workers, cooks, heavy duty cleaners, housekeeping attendants, retail store clerks, slot representatives, servers, bussers, bartenders, hosts/cashiers, food and beverage supervisors and stewarding supervisors.
“The majority of the positions we are looking to fill are in food and beverage and retail to support our new Final Cut Steakhouse, Epic Buffet, Hollywood Stadium sports bar and Rodeo Drive gift shop,” said Jan Wickenhauser, Empress Vice President of Human Resources. “Past experience in a related position is always preferred, but we have plenty of opportunities for customer focused, hard-working, energetic individuals who are entering the workforce or who are interested in making a career change.”
Wickenhauser says individuals attending the job fair should have a copy of their resume and any references they wish to provide. Qualified candidates will be interviewed on-site. In accordance with Illinois state law, candidates applying for positions at Empress cannot have a criminal record and must pass a thorough background check. Drug testing is required prior to being hired.
Empress will begin hiring in October and November so candidates can be trained in time for the grand opening.
